A typical early Victorian wall timepiece, the 12” diameter convex dial signed ‘Newcomb Hounslow’, the fusee movement with anchor escapement fronted by matching steel ‘ pierced moon’ hands, in a mahogany case with narrow turned dial surround, and cast brass bezel.

No maker of this name is recorded working in Hounslow.

An exquisite rare small tavern clock, the 16" wooden dial with roman and arabic numerals, signed 'I Smyth Woodbridge', the five wheel train on a seaboard in a mahogany case with cushion foot, and with typical 'pierced heart' brass tavern clock hands, the minute hand counterbalanced. The glass is held in a turned mahogany surround with inset bezel lock. Total height : 36". All tavern or Act of Parliament clocks are rare - and small ones particularly so. This has its original pendulum and weight, and has a case of excellent colour.

A rare Georgian wall clock, the 12" diameter silvered engraved brass dial signed 'Wightwick & Moss, Ludgate St. London', with roman and arabic numerals, the movement with verge escapement fronted by elegant matching steel 'heart'  hands, in an ebonised case with double salt box projections, and a cast moulded brass bezel closing into a recess in the turned surround.

A shield dial tavern clock, the black dial signed across the base 'Jno. Elliott, Plymouth', and with gilt roman and arabic numerals within a heavily moulded arched surround. The trunk is lacquered with a typical oriental scene, and has a cushion base with an unusual gilt pendentive to match the two finials on the top of the dial.  Most unusually, the hands are driven by a fusee movement with verge escapement, of a very early design.

A very elegant Georgian wall clock, the 12" diameter convex wooden dial signed 'Geo. Jamison, Portsmouth'. The movement, numbered 4027, is both signed by Thwaites, and also embossed 'G.Jamison' to the front plate. The mahogany case has a narrow dial surround, a heavy concave bezel, with an integral lock.

A Regency bracket clock by these noted makers, the 7" diameter convex painted dial signed "Dwerrihouse & Carter, Davies Street, Berkeley Square", the backplate similarly signed, the movement striking on a bell, with strike/silent facility, in a domed top mahogany case of modest size with boxwood stringing to the apron, fish scale sound frets, on brass ball feet. 14 ½ " high.
