Finding, Bedford c.1865

A good mid Victorian wall clock, the 12" diameter flat dial simply signed 'Finding, Bedford'. The timepiece fusee movement fronted by 'pierced moon' hands is in a dark mahogany case with cushion moulded surround carrying a cast brass bezel with silvered sight ring.

Samuel Finding is recorded as having ben born in 1846, and was working in Bedford in1877. He moved to Ampthill in 1881 where he worked until 1910, dying the following year. He was succeeded by his nephew George who worked there until his death in 1935.
